The Dumbest Celebrity Tweets

celebrities who support amber heard

You may have come across some of the dumbest celebrity tweets on social media in your day. Most likely, you've seen Ryan Lochte's tweet regarding his Microsoft Surface or Chris Brown's Twitter fight with Teyana Tayor. While these are obviously unintelligent tweets, they are entertaining nonetheless. Look at these examples and you will be amazed at the dumbness of their tweets.

Drunk tweets

Drunken Twittering is a new high-wire act. Anna Kendrick admits to using Twitter and alcohol to ensure that her tweets are up-to-standard. Although celebrities may wait until the morning to double check drunk tweets, others hire a PR company to help them manage their accounts. Adele apparently consulted two editors before she sent out her drunk tweets.

Eight themes emerged from the tweets on drinking related topics: the celebrity with an alcohol problem, the celebrity with an alcoholic personality, music about drinking and sex, attraction and the use and abuse of other substances. However, the most popular theme in these Tweets was drinking, which is surprising given the popularity of alcohol among celebrities. The study covers only tweets about alcohol but still highlights the importance of social media for our daily lives.

Unintelligent tweets

Below is a collection of hilarious and dumb tweets from Hollywood's top stars. While this isn't a complete list of tweets, it was compiled based upon a few criteria. Although celebrities such as Sylvester Stallone and Tom Cruise are not included on this list, there are still some funny moments in their tweets.

Chris Brown's tweet beef with Teyana Taylor

Although the two have been in a long-running rivalry, Rihanna's latest tweet about Teyana’s tomboy fashion is the latest twist in the drama. Rihanna and Teyana apparently got into a Twitter fight after the singer took offense to Teyana’s comments. Teyana remained silent while Rihanna's publicist intervened. Her fans think she was a victim to Rihanna's vitriol.

Rihanna didn't respond to Rihanna’s tweet. She has been busy promoting her fall collection with MAC Cosmetics. She's already faced harsh criticism over her ill-timed tweets. And while Rihanna might not have been a victim of Teyana's insults, she's been defending Chris Brown with her own actions.

Ryan Lochte's tweet regarding his Microsoft Surface

Ryan Lochte's Twitter feed was quite different after the 2012 Olympics. The swimmer had taken on the "sexy" persona he had become famous for by playing himself on 30 Rock. He tweeted about his Microsoft Surface and promised to release a brand new song if he got one hundred thousand retweets. Both fans and critics found this disappointing. The Olympic swimmer was also accused of devaluing his reputation by using a piece of equipment that is not even his.

Mark Adams, IOC director of communications denies that Lochte’s tweet about the Microsoft Surface resulted in his teammate’s arrest. Lochte's tweet regarding the incident that allegedly robbed him from his Microsoft Surface should be deleted. Bentz issued a statement through University of Georgia, which corroborates the updated version of the events. According to Bentz, security guards with guns ordered the four men to sit on the curb, demanding that they pay for their stolen Surfaces. Lochte was not in any harm and cooperates fully with authorities.
