Marcels

The Marcels were a Pittsburgh-based group who first gained attention in the 1960s. Their high-energy rock music was reminiscent to the early days in rock and rolling. Five musicians made up the group, including Julius Hopson as lead singer and Richard Harris as first tenor. Blue Moon, released in 1970, was the group’s first hit. It was a smash hit that surpassed Elvis’ "Surrender" by a wide margin. The song has become a street corner classic.

Pyrithe

Pyrithe is releasing a new album. It's a good choice if you enjoy noise and atmospheric sludge. Gilead Media will release Monuments To Impermanence, a collaboration between the Pittsburgh band. The group is made up of several members, including Vicky Carbone (ex-singer) and Pyrrhon’s Doug Moore (pyrrhon’s). They are joined by Jason Cantu, Caroline Harrison, and Shalin Shah.
