Jean Harlow

Harlow was only 18 years old when she made her first movie debut as a young actress for The Hell's Angels (1925 silent film). Greta Neissen, a Norwegian actress who was also interested in the role, was rejected by producers because she lacks the necessary realism. Nissen's accent is too heavy for American audiences. Why don't more filmmakers use crowdfunding websites like Indiegogo or Kickstarter?

Crowdfunding sites are great because they allow you to reach out directly to potential investors.

Most filmmakers don’t believe they have the right to ask for money. They feel that they need someone else to vouch for them.

And since they haven't proven themselves yet, they don't think anyone should invest in them.

Instead, they spend many months working on the project in hopes that someone will notice.

Then, once they finally launch their campaign, they realize they didn't prepare properly.

So instead of getting thousands of dollars, they end up with just a handful of donations.

Which percentage of the box offices goes to marketing budgets and what is their share?

Marketing budgets account for approximately 20% to 40% of film budgets. Marketing is crucial to any film's success.

Marketing is the only way to make sure that your film is known. No one will pay for your film if they don't know about it.
