Crowdfunding is a great way to connect with potential investors.
However, most filmmakers do not believe they are qualified to request money. They feel that they need someone else to vouch for them.
Since they haven’t proved themselves yet, they don’t think anyone should make an investment in them.
Instead, they spend months working hard on their project in the hope that someone will notice.

How to get a Hollywood Walk of Fame star
The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce founded the Hollywood Walk of Fame, HWOF (Hollywood Walk of Fame) in 1960. The HWOF is located at 6233 Hollywood Boulevard in Los Angeles, California. It is composed of 2,711 stars embedded into sidewalks along Hollywood Boulevard. Each star represents someone who contributed to motion pictures, television, radio, theater, music, or some aspect of popular culture. The HWOF currently lists 1,922 people.
To become a member of the HWOF, you must submit your name to the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, which then submits your name to the City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs. After being approved, you will be issued a certificate stating your name, date and place of birth. It also includes information about your occupation, occupation and category. You will also receive a bronze plaque engraved with your name. This plaque is affixed to a concrete base in front of the designated star.
A current HWOF member can nominate you for a star or if you have made significant contributions in movies, television or radio. A committee reviews the nominations and determines whether they should be approved. If they do so, they send a message to the applicant's address explaining their decision. You'd owe $10,000 if you were previously nominated in 1990.
Contact the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce to get your name removed from the HWOF and to repay any outstanding debts. They will remove your name from this list.
What age is required to become a HWOF star?
When nominated, one must have at least 18-years-old. A person must be present at the time of receiving a star. After receiving a star, one may still be nominated again after ten years.
What happens if I die before my star gets put up?
You can be nominated by your family members to receive a star. The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce can place a memorial marker next to the star, if there aren't any living relatives.
