DeMille as his mentor and Hedda Hooper as his fellow actress to make it work.

He also worked as Peter Weir in The Mosquito Coast which starred Helen Mirren (and River Phoenix). He also directed the sci-fi thriller Paranoia and Ender's Game.

Tippi Hedgeren

James Stewart

Jimmy Stewart is one of the movie stars from the 1950s and 1960s. Stewart served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps. After the war ended, he began working with Frank Capra. First, he starred with Katharine and Cary Grant in The Philadelphia Story. He joined the U.S. Army in 1941 and was assigned to U.S. Army Air Corps. Due to his ten-pound underweight, he was denied his first physical. Then, after his Oscar, he took a second physical and barely made it. But his persistence paid off. He was sent to Europe as a commander for a bomber squadron, November 1943.

FAQ

What's the difference between an indie film and a foreign language film?

A single filmmaker usually makes an independent film. He or she makes all the decisions.

The opposite is true for foreign language films. They are usually produced by a larger production company.

They often hire actors, authors, and directors who are from other countries.

To ensure the dialogue sounds natural, professional translators are also hired.

Are foreign sales worth more to Hollywood than domestic?

Yes, but only a little. Around 17% of total revenue came from foreign sources in 2017. 83% of total revenue came from domestic sources.

In fact, overseas markets account for over half of the world's population.

Many people will want to see your movie even though they may not have the opportunity to watch it at home.

What happens if my film does not perform well at the box-office?

Several things could happen if your film performs poorly at the box office.

First, it is possible to decide to modify how you market the film.

Second, you may decide to rewrite the script.

Third, you may decide to add characters.

You might also decide to delete some characters.

Fifth, it is possible to decide to end the scene.

Sixth, you may decide that the film isn't worth making.

How many movies does Hollywood make a year?

Each year, Hollywood studios produce approximately 3,000 films. Three thousand!

Hollywood spends billions on film advertising. They spend millions making them. They also spend millions on marketing them. However, how many actually make it to the theaters?

The answer is probably around 200-300. What happens to the 2,700+ other films? Most of them are either released direct-to-video or just sit in storage.

Some of them may not be seen. Some of these have been selected to be distributed via Netflix, Amazon Prime or Hulu Plus.

Hence, why aren't there more of them? Why aren't they released in theaters? Because they're too expensive to produce.

If they were more affordable to produce they would be released into theaters.

That's where my expertise comes in. I will assist you in finding the best possible method to release your movie in theaters.

I'll show how to maximize your return-on-investment (ROI) as well as increase your chances for seeing your movie in theatres.

Let's face facts...

It can be very difficult to get your film in theaters. The process is complex, lengthy and involves many legalities.

You may end up spending a lot of money before you get started.

It is even more difficult to distribute your film within a limited timeframe.

There simply isn't enough time between when a film is finished, and its theatrical run begins.

Why is it that so few independent films are ever released?

Most indie filmmakers assume that their films will get picked up by distributors.

Because they love the work, distributors will likely buy their films.

However, this is rarely the case. Distributors often use independent filmmakers.

They may delay a film's release until after the awards season is over.

They also delay the release date for a low-budget film until the summer blockbuster movie season has begun.

Distributors are also trying to keep films off the streets until audiences have already spent hundreds upon thousands of dollars on tickets or popcorn.

They don’t want to miss out on these profits.

What is the difference between a producer and a distributor?

The movie is produced by a producer. The distributor distributes the movie. A distributor can distribute the movie to theaters or other companies such as Netflix. Distributors purchase movies directly from producers. Then they sell them to theaters, cable channels, or streaming services.

Distributors must negotiate with theater owners where their movies will be shown. This means that certain movies might be more expensive at some theaters than others. Distributors with multiple theaters are a good choice if your movie needs to be seen by as many people.

How To

How to get a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame

The Hollywood Walk of Fame (HWOF) was established in 1960 by the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce. The HWOF is located at 6233 Hollywood Boulevard in Los Angeles, California. It has 2,711 stars embedded in the Hollywood Boulevard sidewalk. Each star represents someone who made motion pictures, television or radio, as well as music and other aspects of popular culture. The HWOF currently lists 1,922 people.

To become a member of the HWOF, you must submit your name to the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, which then submits your name to the City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs. Once you are approved, you will receive a certificate of eligibility that includes your name, date, residence, occupation, category, and other information. You also receive a bronze plaque with your name engraved on it. This plaque is attached to a concrete base located in front of the designated Star.

If you were nominated by an HWOF member, or if there are significant contributions made to the entertainment, film, radio, theatre, and music industries, you may be eligible for a "star" award. A committee evaluates the nominations and decides whether to approve them. If they do approve them, they send a note to the home address of the applicant stating their decision. If the person accepts the nomination, he/she receives a second letter confirming acceptance. The Hollywood Chamber of commerce will then pay $25. This money is forwarded to the Department of Cultural Affairs of Los Angeles.

The department issues a cheque payable to the Hollywood Chamber of commerce. It then sends the check the Hollywood Walk of Fame Foundation. The foundation pays artists or organizations whose applications were accepted. The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce receives half of the fee ($12.50). The City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs pays the remainder.

Once an artist has received their star, he/she is eligible to be listed in the HWOF. To be listed on the HWOF, you must pay the remaining balance owed to the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce. The amount due will depend on when you were first nominated. For example, $15,000. Suppose you were first nominated as a nominee in 1990. However, if you had been previously nominated in 1980, you would owe $10,000.

To remove yourself from HWOF, contact the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce. They will help you pay the remaining debt. They will remove your name permanently from the HWOF list.

How old does one have to get a star on the HWOF?

To be nominated, one must be at least 18 years. To receive a star, one must be alive at that time. After receiving a stars, one could still be nominated after ten more years.

What happens if I die before my star gets put up?

Family members may nominate you to be a star. If no relatives are living, the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce may place a memorial stone in front of your star.

Why not just have stars on every street?

The HWOF doesn't intend to be historical monument. It's meant to be a tribute to those who have contributed to film history.

What happened to the stars that got stolen? The thieves took approximately 1,200 stars. Each star weighs between 250 and 300 lbs. This makes it approximately 4 tons!
